The second week of November will be the launching of the Bio-fuel center. It is a partnership between Flying V and the Philcoa Employees Multipurpose Cooperative. It will be located in the Philippine Coconut Authority Compound at the Quezon City Circle.
The purpose of the Biofuel Center:
- Dispense Premium Biodiesel.
- Promotion and propagation of the use of Biofuels (Flying V is known as the first gasoline station to offer biodiesel at its pumps, it retails 1 peso lower than diesel)
- To be a venue for year-round seminars, exhibits and presentations by its partner advocates (USAID-Sustainable Energy Development Program, Clean Cities Coalition and Fuels for Life Movement)
In line with these they already have the following activities scheduled:
- Seminar on Coco Biodiesel and free Smoke Emission Testing - Oct 20, 24 and 27, 2006 by Chemrez Technologies and DENR
- Alternative Fuels Exhibit by USAIDSEDP - Nov 3, 2006
