Due to projections of higher Sugarcane harvest for October, the Sugarcane producers requested for an increase in the mandatory blending of ethanol in Brazil’s fuel supply. They were granted a 3% increase by Brazil’s President from the original 20%.
Last February there was a decrease of 5% due to the high price of sugarcane. So depending on the price of sugarcane in the market, the mandatory blending percentage in Brazil adjusts as well.
