I’m a bit late in reporting this, but I decided to post it anyway for posterity’s sake… the “re-discovery” of the property of this compound to break down plant matters could hold the key to making Cellulosic Ethanol Production viable:
that (the) compound could be a way to break down the tough cellulose that forms the structure of a plant’s cell walls. Breaking down the cellulose can release the simple sugars that are fermented into ethanol.
And once again we bear witness to one of the worlds greatest events… that the greatest inventions/discoveries could happen due to a stroke of luck or being at the right place at the right time…*snicker*… This will benefit Mankind greatly if the further testing could prove fruitfull.
