Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Research Organization (CSIRO) has said that it might be a bit too early to declare Australia’s very long drought as being caused by Global Warming. CSIRO acknowledges the presence of Global Warming but doesn’t want to readily attribute Australia’s long lack of adequate rainfall to it.

According to them, droughts are a natural occurence in Australia and that the driest areas of the globe are known to experience about 14 years of dry season. Historically, Australia has experienced 30 droughts within 10,000 years. Eastern Australia has had less than average rainfall for over 6 years already while the southern areas experienced 10 years of dry season.
