From DomesticFuel: On the first Day of Congress the Biofuels Security Act of 2007 was introduced. Authored by Senators Tom Harkin and Richard Lugar, it has the following provisions:

  1. All US automobiles to be E85 flex fueled by 2017
  2. All major oil companies to sell E85 at 50% of their gas stations
  3. Renewable Fuels Standard to reach 30 billion gallons/year by 2020 and 60 billion by 2030

Not really the short term policy changes that I was looking for that could help avert climate change because the target dates seem to be way off. Still, it is a good start. Hope they pass it right away.
