logo1.gifYvo de Boer, Executive Secretary of the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change, said that there is a need for Leadership in the face of the global recognition of climate change since what is in place is a feeling of helplessness.

He cited recently inducted U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon as the person that could provide that leadership and direction. One of the tasks he suggested was to get World Leaders to meet and discuss again emissions reduction in a post Kyoto Protocol Conference.

If ever this suggestion is taken up by the new UN Secretary-General and the World Leaders do meet, I suggest that all conference participants have a mandatory film viewing of Al Gore’s: An Inconvenient Truth. The segment showing Al Gore discussing the Economy vs the Environment Debate should be looped… Thrice.

On second thought, scratch the film showing and just get Former Vice President Al Gore to discuss it live to the heads of state. *snicker*
