Wary of bogus Carbon Credit Offsetters that have no affect on reducing greenhouse gases, the UK Government has set new guidelines for Carbon Credit Offsetters.
The worry for the government has been that the benefits of many of the projects have proved difficult to verify and may be open to abuse.
The effect of the new “guidelines” is that only four offset providers have been found to have met the new guidelines. This drew a howl of protest from some offsetters.
