Some notable stuff that happened last week for the environment:
- US House removes subsidies from Oil Companies as well as imposes a “conservation fee” from those who extract Oil from the Gulf of Mexico. They are also hoping to recover lost royalties from lease rentals issued by the Interior Department. All income gained from this bill is targetted to develop the alternative fuel industry of the US. That is the opening salvo for the war against foreign oil dependence.
