With 17 sessions assigned to discuss climate change, 2007’s Annual meet up will be one of the most “climate” focused. The yearly scheduled summit will have 2,400 global leaders and 800 CEO’s attending and will open on the 24th.
I was watching CNN’s Richard Quest interviewing Prof C.S. Kiang of Peking University. He was talking about China’s commitment to combat global warming. Given the amount of development going on at China, if no preventive action is done, they are on route to overtaking the United States as being the biggest CO2 emitter in the world.
Prof C.S. Kiang’s interview ended with him talking about a popular Chinese saying:
“The best time to plant a tree was a hundred years ago… the second best time is today.”
