Comissioned by the US Army, the portable biorefinery which is as big as a van, uses waste materials for its feedstock and outputs ethanol, methane and propane.
It is designed to run initially on diesel till the conversion process can create it’s own fuel source.
The benefits of this are three fold:
- Energy Generation - no need to truck around fuel as you can create your own.
- Waste Reduction by recycling waste matter for fuel instead of just dumping it.
- Emission Reduction with the use of biofuels
