Hot in the heels of SeaOil’s announcement that they are expanding their storage areas to accomodate more biofuels. Chemrez, a manufacturer of biodiesel, announced that they too are expanding their facilities in anticipation of the implementation of the Biofuel Act of 2006 by April 2007.
The Philippine Biofuel Act of 2006 calls for a mandatory mixing of 1% biodiesel with petrodiesel within the first two years and 5% Ethanol with gasoline within the first 4 years.
Officials of Chemrez said that they will spend P691 million ($1=P48) on storage tanks, a 1.5 million-liter barge and trailer trucks.
