According to Flying V execs, they will put up a biodiesel facility in their Sasa Port in Davao City. Biodiesel is currently selling at almost the same price as diesel, they are expecting it to go lower once production goes full blast at the implementation of the Philippine Biofuels Act.
I wonder how different this is from their investment in Enerfuse Holdings Inc? a joint venture with other small oil players to build a biodiesel plant in Coronan Davao. This looks more like a biodiesel blending facility rather than a processing site. More logical infact, to just ship the raw diesel fuel and mix it in Davao, rather than send it pre-blended and incur the additional transportation cost. Considering that they are already planning to set up a biodiesel processing plant with other small oil players.
