Is what CNN want’s us to believe. 2006 was the year of the Solar Panel as consumers rushed to get their own in order to stave off huge energy costs. Now 2007 could be the year of the Wind Power Generator as companies are pushing these energy generating products to consumers.

014_kobold_in_sea.pngThe San Bernardino Strait in Northern Samar (between Samar Island and the Bicol Province) is to be the location of a wave power array which will benefit the residents of the coastal areas.

The project will be funded by the Italian Foreign Ministry and will cost €300,000. The project is expected to start on the latter part of the year when the turbines arrive. Construction is expected to last a year.

According to Flying V execs, they will put up a biodiesel facility in their Sasa Port in Davao City. Biodiesel is currently selling at almost the same price as diesel, they are expecting it to go lower once production goes full blast at the implementation of the Philippine Biofuels Act.

Sugar Cane for EthanolAn article at bulatlat states that only a handful will benefit from the recently signed RA No. 9367 or more commonly known as the 2006 Philippine Biofuels Act. Chiefly land owners who might be exempted from the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) because they are going to be planting feedstock materials for biofuel processors.
