Just received this in my inbox from Automotive X Prize. They are already set to launch the contest on the 20th of March at the 2008 New York International Auto Show. In line with that is the announcement of who their main sponsor will be. 60 teams from nine countries have already signed a letter of intent to join the contest.

Monsignor Gianfranco Girotti, the head of the Vatican’s Apostolic Penitentiary, announced a new set of acts that are to be considered by Catholics as sinful behaviour. Included in that list was “Pollution”.

These announcements came after a week long conference in the Vatican on the topic of Confession. This was also due to the decision of the Church to modernize the categorization of sins for the current times.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could harness the energy of sound for our everyday use? Much like the scream energy being harvested in the movie Monsters Inc.

Just think about it, the energy is renewable and abundant. Not to mention that people just love to talk about themselves all the time. Somebody should stick a grant in this idea.

And that folks is my short but futile attempt at humor for today.
