Ecogeek announced that Toyota will soon be manufacturing a 100 MPG Prius. This is great news. The downside is that the waiting list is 3 years. That is something I’d be willing to wait for.
This is just exactly what the human race needs and the direction we should be moving to. It’s not enough that we are converting to renewable energy resources, but we ourselves must change our excessive life styles. By this I also mean that a lot of R&D resources should also be allocated to create more energy efficient machines and equipment. Time to raise to existing efficiency ratios now, pronto!
Everytime I hear boasts of a car manufacturer that say that they have created an ethanol variant of their SUV I just have to whack my hand on my forehead. A Gas Guzzling SUV is still a gas guzzling SUV regardless of whether it runs on a renewable fuel or not.
