A few days ago I did a post on the Bangui Wind Farm at Ilocos Norte in the Philippines. And just as if on cue, news came out that the Wind Farm’s expansion to 33 MW capacity will be finished by August 2008 this year. Some great news indeed from the Northwind Power Development Corp, who own the windfarms.

SM Davao’s Department Store and Grocery will begin using Oxo Biodegradable Plastics (OBP) shopping bags tomorrow. OBP’s are conventional plastics but with an added proprietary mixture that speeds up the breakdown of the chemical structure of the bag. The resultant products of the breakdown are then easily converted by micro-organisms to their food or into carbon dioxide and water.

The Sweet Life, hosted by Lucy Torres-Gomez and Wilma Doesnt, had a special on Eco Living with segments touching on fashion, health and living. One segment of the show focused on Rajo Laurel’s, pet project of recycled(retaso) bags.

Rajo Laurel is a famous designer from the Philippines. His passion for fashion started at an early age which led him to attend some prestigious design schools abroad in order to develop further his craft. His talent for design has allowed him to bag some very important fashion awards from abroad.
