Well the father of the Man that Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri narrowly defeated in last years elections seems to think so.
That father is of course Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel Jr. After his son’s application for a TRO on the proclamation of Senator Zubiri as the winner of the closely contested last slot in the Senate was denied by the Supreme Court, Koko Pimentel filed a complaint at Senate Electoral Tribunal (SET) asking for a recount of some precincts in Mindanao where he believes that he had rightfully won.
The Lawyer of Sen. Zubiri released a statement saying the only the SET can release the figures of those contested precincts and he also reminded the Pimentels of the order of the SET for both parties to refrain from commenting in the Media on the outcome of the results of the recount. Till then his client will continue to perform his function as a member of the Senate.
Well, that’s something to keep tabs on this coming day. Despite what happens, Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri will always be affectionately called as the Father of the Biofuels Bill in this blog.
