Nissan Motor just announced their latest Eco Friendly Engine, the M9R. This will initially be placed on the Nissan X-Trail SUV. According to them it gets 30% more mileage than gasoline-based counterparts while producing similar torque levels as a six cylinder, 3.5 liter gasoline engine. The M9R was jointly developed with Renault.
Way to go Nissan! That’s what we need more of, breakthroughs in producing energy efficient machines. Still an SUV is still a gas guzzling SUV. As responsible citizens of the earth, we should always be conscientious when consuming our limited resources. So if you don’t really need an SUV, stick to your compact car.
