Depending on who’s side you are on right now, you could either be happy or sad with the news of falling gas prices.
Right now the enemy of renewable energy advocates is complacency. What with the price of Oil going down recently because of the world financial crisis. We might start thinking that there is no need to push forth with renewable energy with as much gusto as we had when oil was trading at $150/ba. This should be viewed only as a welcome respite that can help offset costs during the application of renewable energy projects.
Yesterday on CNN I saw Iran calling for OPEC to reduce their production so that oil prices would go up. So drunk have the oil producing nations have been with the $100/ba prices that they will do anything to recover it.
So long have countries been at the mercy of oil producing countries suffocating their economies with the high price of oil that its time we stake claim to our independence.
This is one tipping point that we should welcome with open arms.
