EDC President and Chief Executive Officer Paul A. Aquino said that they are planning to put their energy projects abroad on hold due to slowing economies and tight credit markets.
He however failed to mention what these projects were but there were previous reports of them eyeing geothermal projects in Indonesia. Specifically in Java, Manado and Sumatro and together with PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) of Indonesia.
Just recently EDC inked a loan package with the World Bank’s IFC worth P4.1 Billion to fund their renewable energy projects in the Philippines
