Officials of the City of Navotas announced that they have allocated P1 million tricycle driver loan program so that they can purchase conversion kits for their motorcycles to run on LPG instead of gasoline. The local government of Navotas did this so as to help boost the profit margin of their tricycle driver constituents and to protect the environment.

The loan which amounts to P15,000 ($1 = P48) is an interest free loan and carries a daily payment of P50 per day. Only members of the Federation of Navotas Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (FENTODA) will be able to avail of the loan package.
Not sure however if this will help to protect the environment since the two stroke motorcycle design results in incomplete burning of fuel leading to more harmful emissions and lesser engine efficiency. I remember there was a law being sponsored to ban two stroke engines in motorcycles in favor of the 4 stroke motorcycles, wonder what happened to that?
The tricycle is another means of public transportation in the Philippines next to the Jeepney. It is basically a motorcycle connected to or built around a passenger cage. With this design it can carry about 2-5 people. Some designs however allow it to carry more than 5 people
