The first of News report of January will always be a collage of stories related to fireworks related injuries and property damage. Things were much different however than the previous year’s celebrations.
According to the DENR, it helped that the New Years Eve was greeted with rains as it reduced the effect of the fireworks induced smog over the country. Visibility however still went down in the roads of the Metro for a few hours. Compared to last year, there were lesser injuries related to fireworks. There were still some cases of properties burning due to stray fireworks and people getting fireworks caused injuries.
