Talks on the revival of the controversial Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) has been very active in the media lately.

Just yesterday the author of the Bill to revive the BNPP, Rep Mark Cojuangco, gave his side and called it unfair for the Catholic Church to go against the revival of the controversial power plant because they were basing their assumptions on “old data”.

Convicted of Plunder then Pardoned, ex-president of the Philippines, Joseph Estrada gave his support for the revival of the BNPP. He said that other countries have their own power plants so it must be safe also. And this is the part where I raise one eyebrow and cock my head at an angle.

The group NO to BNPP Revival! also came out with their statement on how misleading the bill actually is as to the hidden costs of reviving the failed nuclear power plant.
