Sandra Seifert (center in picture below), representing Negros Occidental, was crowned Miss Philippines Earth of 2009. Dubbed the pageant with a cause, it was broadcast by ABS-CBN and was held at the The Arena in San Juan.

Sandra Seifert has some big shoes to fill as last year’s Miss Philippines Earth, Karla Paula Henry, went on to win the 2008 Miss Earth pageant.
Completing her court for 2009 are:
- Grezilda Adelantar of Victorias City who won Miss Philippines Eco-Tourism and Miss PAGCOR. She will be tasked to promoting eco tourism in the country.
- Patricia Marie Tumulak of Quezon City who won Miss Philippines-Fire and Miss Science and Technology. New to the contest was the title of Miss Science and Technology. She is responsible for promoting science research to benefit the environment and our natural resources.
- Michelle Martha Braun of Aklan who won Miss Philippines-Air. She will be responsible for the promotion of clean air laws and the like.
- Catherine Loyola, representing the Filipino community of Sydney Australia, won Miss Philippines Water. She will be responsible for promoting marine life and water conservation.
According to the show’s hosts, Billy Crawford and Nikki Gil, some of the clothing and accessories worn by the contestants during the pageant came from recycled materials.
