According to a recent report. Global Green Power, a UK based company, had already broken ground on their Biomass power plants in Panay last May. Grace Yeneza, compliance director of Global Green Power, said that it will be an investment worth $40 million for each plant.

The company is planning to put up three biomass power plants in Panay, Nueva Ecija and Pangasinan. This will come at a total cost of P5.6 billion, a company official said. The three power plants will have a combined capacity of 15 megawatts. Previous reports had the company saying that they would be setting up five power plants in the provinces of Panay, Samar, Nueva Ecija and Pangasinan.

Bert Dalusung, Global Green CEO, said that they had signed a service contract with Poyry Energy Inc. Previous reports have stated that they have already signed service agreements to supply electricity to an Iloilo electric cooperative.
