Long Range Weather Forecasting: How our Ancestors Did it
According to my mother, the old people believed that the first 12 days of the new year could foretell how the weather outlook of the year would look like. For example, if it rained in January 1st, then expect the majority of January to be rainy.

So far January 5th was hot in my parts with the afternoon having a sudden downpour. January 9 was cool while today the 10th is somewhat cloudy and cool. I don’t remember how the rest of the days went.

What people in agriculture would pay to know what the weather would be like. Then again, those commercial farms invest a lot in making their farms weather proof.

Definitely this hypothesis is a great idea to test, if I can only remember to keep track of if for the rest of the year. This post really doesn’t have much to do with the theme of this blog but I just felt that it merited enough to earn a post.
