According to PAGASA, yesterday Feb 24 2010 was the hottest day of 2010 in the Philippines wherein the temperature reached 34.5C at around 1:50 PM. However, with it only being February the country could expect still warmer days ahead with the onset of summer.

The country is currently suffering from a dry spell that is affecting water and electricity services of the country. The latter because of the dependence of the country on clean hydro electric power to generate electricity which require water to power it. The dry spell is said to be brought about by the El Nino phenomenon.
