A dark day for scientists fighting global warming as the almost $300 M satellite that was supposed to have been used to map the amount of CO2 in the earth’s atmosphere suffered a malfunction during lift off.

New records show that China has already beaten the US in the title of being the country emitting the most CO2 into our atmosphere. What’s remarkable about this also is that they did it in just a short span of time.

No doubt its because of the massive amounts of coal fired power plants and factories in China. During this year’s Beijing Olympics they had to shutdown majority of the factories around the city just so that the smog would clear up.

Definitely not one title a country should be looking forward to nor aspire for.
