Here’s a great set of video’s created by Graydon Blair over at expertvillage showing how one can go about making biodiesel for personal use. In a nutshell, making biodiesel is a process of putting catalyst to vegetable oil that will product a chemical reaction resulting in the separation of biodiesel from glycerin.

I do recommend not relying on just this information. It would be good to use the search engines and check for the possible caveats that people have experienced when they tried creating their own biodiesel. Public Utility Vehicle: Diesel to LPG ConversionUpdate: DOE is changing its recommendation on the use of a Diesel LPG system in PUV’s.

Philippine President, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, announced the P1B budget allocated for the public utility vehicle drivers so that they can convert their jeepneys from diesel to Diesel-LPG.

It boils down to P80/day charged to the driver for repayment of his debt for converting his jeepney so that it can accept the cheaper priced Auto LPG. The diesel engine will then run at a mixture of 70% diesel and 30% LPG.
