Do It Yourself DIY Electric CarThey say electric cars are good for the environment because they don’t consume fossil fuels that expel CO2 into the atmosphere. Of course the ideal use of electric vehicles is in tandem with charging the electric vehicle from renewable energy sources, otherwise the energy and CO2 you saved with not gassing up just increases the demand to the fossil fuel based powerplant to burn more fuel in order to generate electricity for charging.

As one of the primary business districts of the Philippines it would do well to adapt the e-jeepney in Makati for public transport in order to reduce the city’s overall pollution and carbon emissions.

Nissan EV could be sold in the Philippines

Universal Motors, dealer of Nissan Cars in the Philippines, said that Nissan Japan is seriously considering the Philippines as one of the target markets to sell their Nissan Electric Vehicle (EV) in.

Nissan has already announced plans to sell its electric vehicle based on the Nissan Cube chassis, by next year in North America and Japan. Selected markets in other countries will follow suit by 2012.

Reviving Nickel Cadmium Batteries

Here’s an interesting post that shows you how you can revive your old nickel-cadmium batteries (Ni-Cad) by adding a high dosage of voltage to them.

The theory is that sulfur crystals that have formed in a battery from prolonged use are what’s causing the batteries to be “dead” because they short its two poles together. Adding a high voltage to the battery causes the sulfur crystals to vaporize effectively unshorting the two terminals.
