NCCC Reusable Bag

A few months back NCCC Mall, the store where we regularly buy our groceries from, started offering their own version of the reusable shopping bag. Its being sold for just P55.00 ($1=P49) and comes in the store’s colors, which is predominantly blue with a dash of yellow. Reusable shopping bags can be used by customers to carry their groceries in instead of the more common method of a plastic bag.

Was watching the news yesterday evening and saw a feature on the Ecostore in Taguig. The Ecostore carries a wide array of recycled and organic products. The short clip showed some products that would make great gifts for this Christmas season because they help raise awareness on going green and protecting the environment. Not to mention, look fashionably cool while you’re at it.

SM Green Recyclable BagSM Davao’s Department Store and Grocery will begin using Oxo Biodegradable Plastics (OBP) shopping bags tomorrow. OBP’s are conventional plastics but with an added proprietary mixture that speeds up the breakdown of the chemical structure of the bag. The resultant products of the breakdown are then easily converted by micro-organisms to their food or into carbon dioxide and water.

The Sweet Life, hosted by Lucy Torres-Gomez and Wilma Doesnt, had a special on Eco Living with segments touching on fashion, health and living. One segment of the show focused on Rajo Laurel’s, pet project of recycled(retaso) bags.
