kevinsbg.jpgThe University of Notre Dame’s Research group has come up with a novel way to improve the efficiency of Carbon Nano tubes by adding a film made of titanium-oxide nanoparticles to the present setup. This made energy collection more efficient than existing decisions. Although construction was considered to be cheaper, Carbon Nano Tubes lacked the collection to compete with existing solar technologies.

Comissioned by the US Army, the portable biorefinery which is as big as a van, uses waste materials for its feedstock and outputs ethanol, methane and propane.

It is designed to run initially on diesel till the conversion process can create it’s own fuel source.
