Feedin Tariff rates for RE filed for approval by NREBA month after announcing that they had decided on the FeedIn Tariff Rates (FIT) for the Renewable Energy sector, the National Renewable Energy Board announced that they have submitted already for approval the FIT rates. As more light gets shed into the matter with this recent announcement, it turns out that the recommended FIT is actually graded depending on the type of renewable energy investment.

The following are the recommended FIT rates based on the type of renewable energy project: solar power (P17.95/kWH), ocean power (P17.65/kWh), wind power (P10.37/kWh), biomass (P7/kWh) and hydro (P6.15/kWh)

Integrated Micro-Electronics to expand solar panel manufacturing unitAfter announcing earlier this year that they were entering renewable energy production via the purchase of Northwind Power, another Ayala Corp subsidiary, Integrated Micro-Electronics, Inc(IMI), announced that it was expanding its Solar Panel production capacity.

According to the report, publicly listed IMI established IMI Energy Solutions in 2010 in Fremont, California to produce develop and prototype solar panels. Output made by IMI Energy Solutions will be mass produced by IMI. Plans are to produce it either in the Philippines or in another country.

SunConnex B.V. (from the Netherlands) announced that they are planning to invest $100 million to put up a solar power plant in the Philippines. They said that they would begin by setting up 5 solar power plants with 10MW capacity before embarking on a 50MW one.

Youil Renewable Energy Corp to put up Solar Power PlantsYouil Ensys of South Korea announced through its local office, Youil Renewable Energy Corp, that they were planning to put up solar farms in Negros (30MW) and Bohol (10MW). The investment for the Solar Farm in Negros is expected to reach $120 Million while the one in Bohol will be $40 Million.

The catch however is that the country has to have a Feed-In Tariff scheme in place before they start constructing.

Eco-Merge plans total of 41MW Solar Energy ProjectsEco-Merge Philippines Inc. announced that they plan to invest $150 million for the construction of a total of 41MW of solar energy based power projects in the next 3 years.

The first project being a 11MW solar farm in Pili, Camarines Sur that will start within this year and is expected to be finished by Nov. 11, 2011. The project will be established in a 22 hectare area and will cost about $40 Million. Partnering with them in this project is Australia based engineering firm, SMEC Philippines Inc.
